Morocco road trip in March

I'm heading for Morocco at the end of Feb and I plan to be in Morocco for approximately 3 weeks during March. I'm riding a V Strom 650 and I'm going to be travelling on roads, not trails. The weather in Morocco is very good at the moment, varying between 20 and 28 degrees, which is a hell of a lot better the dreary February weather in the UK. There is a lot to see in Morocco, with scenery that varies between snow capped mountains and hot dry desert and if you avoid the big towns the roads are good, and generally fairly quiet. I'm planning on using hostels since they are dirt cheap, and eating in local cafes etc which are also very cheap. So, it's going to be a road trip, not an off road trip, but with great roads, great scenery, and great weather. If anyone feels like joining me for any part of it let me know. I'll be riding down through France and Spain before getting the ferry at Tarifa.

What route are you taking down through France? If you are using the fastest route on google maps you will pass less than 10 miles away from my place in the Sarthe, just off the A28 south of Alencon

If you fancy a coffee break and a bit of a chat around that area pm me.

I'm guessing I'll be somewhere in the middle of Morocco by then, but I'm happy to catch up somewhere en route. I don't have a definite route yet, but probably aiming to go down past Agadir, and then east towards Merzouga, then back towards Ouarzazate and then over the Atlas mountains, but no definite plan. PM your contact details and I'll keep in touch.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
