Moscow to Magadan
G’day all,
Due to unavoidable circumstances my mate has had to pull out of our trans Russian trip this year. My wife will be with me from Paris through St Petersburg and on to Moscow where she will be flying home, after that I’m on my own now.
It doesn’t bother me that much (I did TDF to Deadhorse solo in 2010) but some company through Mongolia and Siberia for the road of bones would be good for peace of mind and mutual help if needed.
I know there are a lot of people travelling this way this year but I was just wondering if there was anyone on the same sort of time scale as me?
Samara July 1
Barnaul July 11
Into Mongolia Tsagaannuur July 15
Irkutsk Aug 3
Chita Aug 7
Tynda Aug 10
Yakutsk Aug 13
Magadan Aug 18
These dates are obviously very fluid but I need to have the bike in Vladivostok by the beginning of Sept for shipping.

Hej,
I will go for Magadan from Sweden.
Start will be 14-06-19, first destination Berlin to see some friends.
After a two days stop I will continue towards the Altai to enter Mongolia on the western border.
Route to Russia will be passing Poland and Ukraine or, if things go wrong in the Ukraine, change into route through the Baltic States.
I will try the northern route through Mongolia and then go for Irkutsk to
team up (approx. 14-07-20) with another rider for the western BAM.
Goal is also to arrive in Magadan until end of August.
Might be we can share some miles starting from Moscow or Samara.
Keep me updated with your timetable if this sounds interesting for you.
I'll ride a KTM LC4 and have been in Russia/Mongolia before.
Best regards from Scandinavia
Uwe

Hi Uwe,
Sounds good. We will be going through the Baltic States to catch the ferry from Tallinn to St Petersburg on the 16/6. After Moscow I will be going to Volgograd before heading up to Samara. If you still manage to go through the Ukraine then we can meet somewhere around that area.
I've sent you a PM with my Email.
I will be riding an XT660z Tenere so the bike should be fairly matched (on road at least ) I don't know about me and the BAM, but it's an interesting prospect??
Chris.

Hi Paul.
Generaly I had a plan to go at 27/6 with my friend, but he refused to go. So Im leaving sooner with my friend from Hungaria ( we should meet somewhere by the way to Belorussia ). But it makes me a little crazy in preparation and reorganization in my work due those changes. Will see. If not done all in work smoothly - I will go as planned before - 27/6.......So...

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
