Nepal/India to Ireland June 2001
Hi,
I'm going to be heading across Pakistan, Iran, Turkey etc. in late June. I'm traveling on my Royal enfield Bullet 500cc. I'm not sure of my exact date of departure from India yet as I still have to get my Iranian visa in Dehli. I'm leaving for Dehli from Katmandu on the 10 June so I should be in Dehli by the 15th. WHile I am waiting for my Iranian visa I plan to go up to Leh to the highest road pass in the world at 5400m.
After that I head for home. If anyone is travelling the same direction around then let me know and we can meet up along the way.
"Keep her lit",
Shane

Hello!
I'm trying to find a travel partner from India to NL.
I'm a woman, traveling with my small dog, in India since dec. on an Enfield 350. I'm hoping to leave for Pakistan in early August.
I am flexible however. I've traveled through Nepal a bit already, and although I loved it I'm not up for traveling there again.
Have you driven to Ladakh yet? I have a friend who is arriving the 15th of July and we're touring around there for a spell. From what I've heard its not to be missed.
If you're interested in talking more, please email me at (link above)
Are you on the subcontinent yet? If so, where are you and where have you been so far?
Your email for this site - I tried it and it comes up as being incorrect.
Take care-
Cat

Fate? We were sitting in the same e mail cafe as Kipper in India. We are at present at Mcleod Ganj and from here will go to Amritsar. We are 2 Australians riding Honda Shadows and are heading from here to Pakistan, Iran and Turkey. We are also travelling with a German friend who is on a Yamaha Tenere. We plan on doing the Karokoram (forgotton how to spell it) Highway in the north of pakistan as all the overlanders coming the other way tell us it is great, Then we plan to go 'overland'.
Have talked to Kipper and it looks like she will meet us and go overland with us at least. Why not join us. It would make it an interesting group. We have done the Manali, Leh, Srinigar, Jammu loop and found it quite spectacular, but have not got a lot of compliments for the road conditions. In fact I can not think of one good thing to say about the road.
We have not yet got our Iran visas as we thought we would apply in Pakistan and collect them on our way back down after doing the 'highway trip'. Send us an e mail if you are interested in joining us.

I am in Iran at the moment on my way through to Pakistan. I am on a Honda Africa Twin, and have met up with Maria from Ireland on a Yamaha Virago 250!! (the Little & Large Show on Wheels!) We should be in Pakistan by mid July and will be going north towards Kyber and Karakorum Highway - might see you there to swap info. If you have any advise on India it would be appreciated

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
