Hey guys! Its great to get all these reponses so soon! I need to post a few more posts before i can repond to pm's but i am sure i can get there!

Trev, Georgia Mountains, sound good, might have to factor them into the itinery .. Which shouldnt be too hard! always good to see a friendly face on the way!

pj, yeah have insurance more or less sorted , just waiting for my no claims bonus cert to come through so i can send off the form, but if their emails are to be believed its easy, and certainly much cheaper than Dublin!!

Wayne .. a chara! conas atá tú? Yeah i am seeing distinct possabilities. As for after Argentina, well its back up to Santiago de Chile! ¡para cierto resto y recuperación!
The idea being to ship the bikes onto New Zealand and find some work there to save up for the trip home!, and the WTR circut!

Oh just to let yous know i am 26 so hope you like riding with someone up for a party or two!!

Actually should have put this into a few posts so i can get my pm's working!

Thumbs up Hey Kev

Well its good to hear back from ya. I was considering shipping to Oz from somewhere down south if i hit up the ride I was there for a couple of months last year (not on a bike) and the terrain and sheer size of the place would make for a great adventure. No worries with time or work (I'm a tattoo artist).....gotta chat with the wife a wee bit first, she's in Cork right now till next week. We had talked about me heading off on a ride like this for the last several months so it won't be a shock, but its still a long time to be away. I'll keep you posted. Stay in touch.

Irishkev,

From the description of your route it doesn't look like you'll be coming through my part of the country. But I know how the best plans have a way of changing and if you find yourself in the midwest part of the country, check in with me. I have a spare bedroom where you'd be to crash for a while, plenty of cold , and an '04 GS just waiting to be ridden with a fellow GS from Ireland.

Arrival

Hey All!!

Arrived in New York yesterday, so now just waiting for the bike. Ship is supposed to come in tomorrow, so once the bike is cleared and unloaded etc, i am reckoning it will be friday. Then i set off!! So if there is anyone on the road or passing by lets hook up for a ride.

Have an idea to go up to cape cod and Boston for a day or two. Then heading down the coast to washington and phili etc to Virigina, hear there are some good riding areas and mountains and nice towns around, then its onto north carolina etc. and down along the coast to savanna. going to cut into Atlanata and Athens, and then head up to Bowling Green in Kentucy. from there down to Memphis and am thinking to follow the road through to Dallas and down then to Austin and to cross the border at Laredo and on into Mexico!

So talk soon and will keep you in touch. going to keep the account on my blog below and on bebo.

Cheers

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
