Norway - from Stavanger to Lofoten
Hi Horizon Unlimited friends,

I'm currently stay in Stavanger (it rains heavily) and tomorrow i will drive in direction to Lofoten.
My first ideas for the trip see - http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...564#post431395 -
but i'm very flexible with the route (i have about 3 weeks time)
The main thing - have fun to drive with the motorbike and no hassle

Hi Frank
Looks like a great trip. I hope the weather improves for you. I am in the early stages of planning a trip for next summer from Brevik to Kirkenes and would be interested in any advice you might have about the best route. I notice you are taking the Atlantic Highway (which I only found out about recently!) from Molde to Kristansund, which means taking the ferry from Vestnes to Molde. How many ferries will you be taking and have you a rough idea of the cost. I was thinking of taking a more westerly route than you north of Bergen which would probably involve more ferries.
I would really appreciate any advice on the best practical scenic route north.
Keep us posted on how your trip goes and good luck!
Mike

We're a few days ahead of you. Did the awesome road through Geiranger today, including the not to be missed (even though it cost £11) toll road up to Dalsnibba - If you go there see if you can find the Horizons sticker I put there today!
The Trollstigveien is also pretty good. We're in Andalsnes tonight and are seeing the sun for the frist time in over a week!
Atlantic road tomorrow....
Mike, most short ferry crossings are £7-9 each. Get yourself a Michelen map No 752 and hunt out the green roads, they're the touristy/pretty ones but to be honest we've been in Norway for a week no and EVERY day and EVERY road has been fantastic - even in the rain. So good in fact that I'm running out of time and might not make it up to NordKapp.
More on my blog...

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
