Cool Panama to Texas May/June 2014

Howdy everyone,

I'll be tagging along with a friend on a business trip to Bogota this April. After seeing Columbia I'm hoping to buy a bike in Panama and drive it back to Texas. I wouldn't be in a hurry, and I would be very interested in spending some time at the beautiful beaches in Costa Rica and Belize.

I'm 33, single, and recently moved back to Texas after living/working in Hong Kong for 5 years.

If you're interested in joining me in this adventure please let me know!

Peace,
John

If you plan to come through Honduras let me know. I've been living here for 2 years as a teacher. I'd be down to ride with you over a long weekend if you want to come this way.

BMW RT1100 for sale in Panama

Hello Johnny --
I am a Canadian recently arrived in Panama after five months of riding thru C America from British Columbia. An excellent trip with many memorable moments and zero problems, either mechanical or otherwise.
I would prefer however to fly home from Panama, and have advertised my Canadian-registered 1998 BMW RT1100 on the Criagslists both in Costa Rica and Panama. One Italian biz owner in CR wants me to drop by on my way home in order for him to see it, but I would rather sell it here. Asking $5500.
For the bike listing, please see 1998 BMW RT1100 REDUCED
My bike is, at this very moment, getting a tuneup and oil change w filter from a BMW-trained mechanic here in Panama. (Not at the BMW dealer, they wanted $183 just for the oil change!!)
The shop owner (Ride PTY, S.A., on Via Porras between Calle 63 and 64, Panama City) speaks English and can give you an objective opinion regarding the bike and its condition. His name is Abraham cell (507) 6451-8353.
This would be an ideal bike and the price is reasonable. Unless you have another 10-20 grand to spend on a GS this will be a great ride for what you intend to do.
Feel free to email me at sethklapman at hotmail dot com

cheers and good luck

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
