Riding companion for Africa North to South Start Dec 05'
I have arrived in Malaga Spain to continue my RTW journey. Unfortunatley I ran into great difficulty trying to ship my bike from Caracas, Venezuela to Europe after travels from Canada to Ushuaia/ Caracas. I have found a bike in Malaga and am just waiting for the paper trail to end so I can hit the road. (apparently I have to practically become acitizen of Spain to get this old girl on the road!!) I will be touring from Malaga up to Barcelona in the mountains, via Granada and then back to Malaga to ferry across to Morocco after Christmas sometime. I would like to take in some of the Paris Dakar while Im in this neck of the woods! I plan to take a half a year to cross Africa to Capetown where hopefully I can leave my bike for the Canadian summer. Cheers, Id love the company if anyone wants to team up anywhere along the way. Adios

Hi, Old Beemer
I live in South Africa, I assume you will be in the southern regions between May and July. Unfortunatly I cant get up too north at that time, but it will be nice to hook up along the way, maybe in Namibia/Angola, Botswana, Zimbabwe or Zambia depending on your route, then I can possibly tag along to Cape Town. From your message I assume you are not just rushing through, but actually want to take some of the scenery in while your here. I know SA very well, and have travelled, quite extensively, in all the abovementioned countries, so I am sure my 'local' knwoledge will make this part more interesting. Hope to hear from you some time.
Regards
Gus

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
