Southern Chile and Argentina Route 7 / Route 40
I am currently in Farellones Chile directly above Santiago getting ready to finish what began one year ago in Alaska as the trip of a lifetime. I am riding alone on a KLR 650 and I am planning on finishing in Punta Arenas in approximately one month. I will be doing a lot of camping as I plan on riding through a lot of national parks and sitting in a lot of hot springs. My initial plan is to leave here within the week and head towards Parque National Conguillio where I know there are amazing hot springs and a volcano that errupted a few years ago making an amazing drive across what looks like a scene from mars. From there I plan on heading south to Pucon then continuing south to route 7. There I want to make the journey through the mountains to Villa O'higgins as this site blew my mind, ( Route 7 Chile | The road chose me) before turning around and heading back to the boarder crossing at Chile Chico to hit route 40 for the remainder of the trip. And yes I will be keeping a blog, (to be posted) of the trip and I will have the spot on for anyone who wants to follow me along the way. Also to be posted.....
Cheers, Chris

Thanks for the suggestions, Chris!
I didn't know that about Parque National Conguillio. Since I am about to head south from Mulchen, I will try to end up there this afternoon.
Hey, Jo, come on down.

Currently in Villarrica
Hi Chris,
I'll be around for a while between Chiloe, Orsono, Puerto Montt and Ruta 7 de los lago, if you fancy meeting up for a or two.
Hey Mike, I missed the mail on the springs hoping to go to the waterfalls and hot spring here in Villarrica.
Cheers
Jo

Hi,
Just to let you know I'm on my way to orsono tomorrow, I'm looking at going out to the coast from here by a trip to caleta condor or bahi mansa.
Cheers

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
