Southern US to Ushuaia. Nov./Dec 2003
Greetings from an Aussie on the road south fom Canada now.Traveling alone for last 5 months & really want to make it all the way south this year.I`m a little apprehensive about heading all the way south alone,is there anyone or group of riders going this way.I`m extremely flexible with schedules, only plan was to make it to Ushuaia by late Dec early Jan 04, then take more time heading back north. Anyone interested?

I am aiming to travel through C America Nov/Dec, but it depends how successful I am buying another bike since my KLR was just stolen. Would very much like to travel with another person but I doubt I can go further south than Panama-- this time!

Kim,
Check out the Meetings page - link on left - the Copper Canyon Mexico HU Meeting is coming up, nice timing for you. You DO want to be there, lots of info and people to meet up with!
And there are a number of people heading that way you can meet up with for at least part of the ride down. Links to more on the Mexico Meetings page.

Hi Kim
I too am headed sth from Alaska. Will be crossing into Mexico from New Mexico approx 12 days time (12-14th Oct). My goal is to make Costa Rica or Panama by the end of november then go back to the UK for Xmas and to get some more cash. Would be interested in hooking up for Central America. Mail me direct if this fits in with you, if not hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip.

Kim,
I'm planning on leaving S. California around first week of Nov. and either going down Baja penin. and across by ferry, or down mainland Mex. and thru to Ushuaia. I live in Hawaii, but KLR is near San Diego. Did Texas to Panama return 3 yrs ago. Loved it!! -- Porter

I am headed south to Ushuaia from Ecuador in late November. I plan to meet up with Xavier from this site. He is leaving New York about now and will be in Copper Canyon. You may be able to ride with him thru Central Am and continue with us from Ecuador. He has a thread elsewhere in this forum. Something liks NYC to Ushuaia.
Good luck and have fun.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
