Dave,
I'm leaving California on July 1st, but heading for the HU meeting in Colorado first. Then, around the 10th to the 15th of July, heading down to Mexico. Not sure if I am going to go the coast route or stick to the interior. Both have advantages. My first big stop will be in Qaxaca to study spanish for about a month or so. Then down to Guatemala to do the same, and again in Costa Rica. Long term I want to go RTW. Spent a lot of time in Mexico, but never by bike. Anyway, we might run into each other.

been riding for 9 years, mostly street
toured mexico a few times, so I am very comfortable there
speak enough spanish to get by, main goal of trip is to become proficient
easy going
well prepared (i like trip planning as much as the actual trip itself, not that plans actually indicate what will happen.. I just like to have a list of things i *COULD* do)
big map and gps nerd. you've been warned.
Anyway... If anyone is interested, drop me a line. You can see my trip blog at gsomething.com .. There isn't that much there .. YET
As of now, I'm traveling solo, but it'd be nice to ride/meetup with people along the way.
If you live in the Houton area and have done a similiar trip, let me know as I'd like to buy you a and chat.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
