Thinking of 2010
Is anyone out there in the UK, like me, wishing to undertake tours and particularly a trip to Turkey in 2010 but would prefer company for moral support? Unfortunately, I’m shackled to employment and family therefore can only look at around three weeks for Turkey, preferably June / early July, to miss the fierce heat of summer.
Go on, you know you want to!

Tentatively planning to ride down through the Balkans mid-May. Not going all the way to Turkey (probably head to Macedonia and Albania after Sofia) but if you end up pulling your journey forward a month, be great to ride together.

Stop Press!
Wife just announced that she wants to go to Hisarlik (Troy) for her birthday, 10 July, next year. She doesn't ride but would fly out. This might be a plan yet. :confused1:

Planning on circumnavigation of africa 2010 starting around aug/sept ! my route will take me through europe to istanbul and onward to syria/jordan, then into egypt.
Would be great to meet up with others for some moral support, unlike some of you I'm self-employed and very single. i've done plenty of adventure travel but nothing on a motorbike and only passed test aug '08.

Hi EMBEE
My plans are firming up and it's looking like I'll be leaving Paris on 3rd May travelling down to arrive in Athens on 12th or 13th May going via the Croatian coast and Albania. I'll be staying a week in Athens and travelling on using a ferry crossing from Igoumenitsa to Bari or Ancona. Let me know if your plans change.
Best
Paul

Early May is somewhat sooner than I had anticipated departing. That said, I shall not dismiss the idea as the opportunity of travelling through Alabnia is one that appeals to me.
Keep in touch please.

Hi Embee,
If fate smiles on us we'll be starting a rtw in early May and spending time in Turkey before heading south in the autumn. Keep in touch and maybe we can ride together/meet up/blow the froth off a few. pm on its way.

Hi Mike
Just a quick update. Having to stay in Paris a week longer so not departing from there before 14 May at the earliest. Still hope to ride through all of the western Balkans but the delay means I may ride the route in reverse (down through Italy and back via the Balkans) which I don't think fits with your plans.
