Hello,
Is anyone planning to be crossing Turkey and or Iran during July?
Am crossing Europe now and will reach Turkey in a couple of weeks.

Hi Harry.
if u have a short break at Istanbul come to the heart of the city called Sultanahmet (BLUE MOSQUE) and ask for Angel's Home Hotel which is only few steps away blue mosque. There, u may see some european/turkish bikers travelling on the same rote with u or also some bikers have a short break in istanbul as u

Hi Frank, just in Gelibolu now and heading east via Goreme, Erzurum and Van...should be nearing Iranian border around first week of July, with 2 weeks to get to Bander in the south. if this is anywhere near you, send me a private note and we can exchange numbers etc.
Good luck if we don't meet this time.

How did you get on going through Pakistan and Iran? I was hoping to go through from India in a few months time but the visa for Iran seems to be a problem. Is there any way to get through and into Turkey?
Many thanks
Alex

Iran and Pakistan
Hi Alex,
In fact I did not manage to get through Pakistan from Iran. Iran was grt, but have heard that UK has cut diplomatic ties now.
One Guy I heard took a boat from Turkey to Russia, then across the Caspian to the Stans, and then into China , before dropping into the top of Pakistan.
So maybe you could do that in reverse?
Have fun
Harry
Am in Chiang Mai for HUBB meeting...are you here?

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
