UK to Singapore via Russia, Mongolia, China
Hi everyone,
Im planning a ride home to Singapore leaving around July 2004 from UK. Plan is to ride across europe via Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Mongolia, China, Vietnam and then south to Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore.
Entering China seems a little more difficult than anywhere else. Possibly put my bike on a truck or train (as transit cargo), for the border crossing from Mongolia to China, and intend to ride onwards upon entering China.
I had ridden from Singapore to UK last year via Thailand to Nepal (flight), India, Pakistan , Iran, and now intend to ride the other way round back home. Anyone looking at a similar ride or would like to ride along, would be most welcome.
I can communicate in a litte mandarin, and hope to learn a little Russian for the trip. Would love to hear of any experiences in crossing China.
Cheers
Dalbir

Hi Dave,
Let me know what your plans are. Where are you heading to?
Im now researching information regarding the Russian and Ukraine visa. Looks like i dont need a mongolia or china visa for travel up to 14days each, with my Singapore passport. But will be heading down the embassies to make sure.
When do u plan to ride? Route? How much time you have?

If there's any info about this, please let me know. I'll be trying to get from Japan to Europe also visiting India. I'd like to see China & Mongolia, but not sure how possible that would be. I'd love to see Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and would prefer not to take the ferry to Vladivostok from Japan.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
