Vietnam-Mekong Delta MArch 2014

I'm off to Vietnam and plan to just cruise the Mekong Delta area.
I will be landing in Saigon 8th March. I have to go to Vung Tau for a couple of days which I will do by bus, then return to Saigon buy a bike and cruise to the Delta.
Nothing set yet, other than gathering info on where the cheap accomodation is.. looks like it will be $10-15/night .... food is cheap.

If anyone wants to join they are welcome.
For more info on Vietnam see my posts HERE

I am flying out on the 28th March back to Brisbane Australia

Cheers
Alex

I will use the foil one day ... but dearer and takes longer as you have to get to the warf then pay for hydrofoil... which is over 200.000 now.

From the International airport, just walk to domestic terminal, into the carpark and there are buses that leave for Vung Tau every hour. They have "JetStar” or “Vietnamairlines” painted on the bus body .... I forget the price but easier and cheaper than the Hydro for me, and they drop me at my door, so no taxi from the ferry terminal in Vung Tau

From Vung Tau back up to Saigon straight into District one (where I stay) ...again by bus again... cheap as chips...I always use Phuong Trang. Futa Buslines (Phuong Trang) They cost 110.000 VND for the trip and in Vung tau they pick you up from your residence and take you to the bus station to meet your bus then off to Saigon.

There is a 15min toilet break half way and the trip takes about 3 hours, but allow 4hrs... If the traffic is bad i.e. rush hour it can take that long.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
