Greg, I suggest you be a little more descriptive in your post. Most people don't know that Yaviza is the end of the Panamericana before the Darien gap (100 km of jungle between Panama and Colombia). In other words, that you're going to turn around in Panama and head north. Most riders either head to Colombia or have other plans.
Not to discourage you, because it is the END of the road, but the road from Panama City to Yaviza is constant construction, a mass of big trucks and dust, and really nothing when you get there. I did it last month and it took me a few days to pick the grit from my teeth But hell... go for it! And the rest of the trip from the US through Mexico and central America is fantastic.
