Buying a motor bike in Argentina
hello,
I have just completed a tour from Patagonia to the Carribean by biciycle. I now want to return to Argentina (for me the best country in South America) to travel a while on a motorbike.
So, can anyone help me with what I need to know in order to buy a motorcycle in Argentina and travel on it within the country. Also what sort of licence is required. I have an Australian motor bike license only.
thankyou,
Joel Pedro

hi
all you need to travel is a the liscence you have already and a title for the bike you buy. we have not yet entered argentina but we hear that there are no probs traveling there by motorbike. you may also be asked for insurance for the bike, a friend did recently, had none and get fined $150. we are travelling with a false insurace document and false papers for one of the bikes, a west australian registerd klr250. as long as your papers look good there should be no probs. if you are looking for a bike we will have 2 for sale at the end of jan 2005. a 2000 klr250 and a 1992 honda dominator nx650. they will be sold in bunoes aires and are listed in the for sale section of HUBB. any more questions or info you need just ask. good luck

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
