carnet de passage sahara
hi guys.
not sure if my first message was actually posted.
We are travelling from morokko through Western sahara, mauretania to senegal. We are travelling with two cars. We intended to leave the cars (either sell/give as a present) in Senegal or Mauretania and fly back home. Now we are starting to realise that we apparently need a document called carnet de passage to enter both mauretania and senegal by car. First of all, is this still valid or can we enter the country with a laissez passer or passavant? In case we drive the cars back up to Europe, what happens if they break down, therefore we need to leave them there? What should we tell the customs, what offical document is needed?
Anyone with any experience in this matter please help because this will significantly influence our travel plans. Cheers guys.
