Carnet for Foreigner in Australia, Extension for old one,

Extension of your carnet de passage in Queensland ,Australia

And carnet for foreigner with own registered bike in Australia

When you need a longer extension for your valid carnet de passage in Queensland, Brisbane area:

you have to contact; RACQ in Eight Miles Plain,-Springwood,2649 Logan ROAD, 30km south from Brisbane,
contact Miss Kylie Twin,
or Janelle Hunter Tel. 07 33618924, or 07 3361 3252 , email
Janelle .Hunter@racq.com.au, WWW.RACQ.COM.AU.,
GPS Dates from RACQ in 2649 Logan Road are,
South 27* 35.234, East 153* 06.075

Touring Information Officer, it cost for one year 70,- OZ-dollar, need 10 days, all documents ‚ll be send to Canberra ,to Ms. Peppina Sorbara, AAA,Tel. 02 62477311, Customs home page, the postage it back to you,
after this, you have to go to any customshouse with the new carnet,
the will stamp the carnet and make some handwriting entrees,
and change the expired day of your carnet.
All this will be done in conection with the underwriter from your oringinal carnet, like me the ADAC in Germany.

I have to pay for my carnet underwriter in Germany ADAC a fee from about 150,-Euro, it’s the same like I order a new carnet de passage.
I already have a longer extensions for my BMW, I was 18 months in Australia with the bike.
And with this longer extension carnet you can go to oversea, and travel until the epiry day.

This information are from Queenlsnad, I dont now how this works in other parts from Australia, but all carnets will be postage to Canberra to Ms. Sorbara.
I think this works Australia wide.

Something different, for foreigner, when you buy a bike in OZ, Queensland.
Like me, I change from BMW to Kawasaki.
And you will travell around the world with this!!!
You need a carnet de passage from Australia.
Your bike have to be registered in your name, you need a insurance police too,
you go also to the RACQ, adress above, fill a form for a carnet, take the documents with you.
Copy from Passport, Driverlicence, and pay a fees from 400,- Oz dollar, and a caution, depend wich country you will go.
New Zealand 25%, the highest country will be valued, z.B. Japan 100%, you also can choice a insurance for this payment.
Than you have to pay 2%, but a minimum from 300 OZdollar, and 250OZ refundable found, but you take nothing back, you loose this .
Your caution without insurance, will be refund to you, on the Master,-Visacard,you dont need a account.
Also you can make a longer extension, max. 1 year, it cost you 70,- OZ dollar.
You have to contact the automobil association in the country where you are.
They will contact your carnet underwriter and clear everything.
The longer extension can’t be again renew.
Befor also 2 years with your actually carnet runs out, you can have an new carnet from your Underwriter, but it cost again 400,- OZ dollar, and your bike have to be insured and registered, the will see the papers for this.

Little bit much writing,puhhh,
but I hope someone else can use it.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
