China L 'Tourist' Visa for UK National
Hello everyone;
We're planning an overland trip from Kyg to Pak via. China and the KKH.
I believe the Chinese visa process has fairly recently changed? I think it is now required to present evidence of a return flight booked with and hotels or an LOI plus other supporting info.
Has anybody any experience they can offer regarding this process?
Does anybody know what a visa notification form issued by authorized travel agencies in China looks like? The other items we already have.
Tourist and family visit visa (L-visa)-Visa Instruction
(vii)Applicants applying for special tour to China should provide a visa notification form issued by China National Tourism Administration or the tourism administration of related province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government. Special tour includes self-driving, hiking, cycling, horse-riding, hot air balloon, or other expeditions.
(viii)For group tour, the following documents are required:
1.A visa notification form issued by authorized travel agencies in China including China International Travel Service Head Office, China Travel Service Head Office, China Youth Travel Service Head Office and the tourism administration of related province, autonomous region and municipality directly under the Central Government.
2.A name list of the members of the tourist group. If the last page of the list has left a blank, a straight line should be drawn across the blank from its upper corner on the left to the lower corner on the right.
3.Original passport of each group member and a photocopy of the information page from each passport, which should be arranged according to the names listed.
4.A letter issued by the travel agency organizing the tour, the content of which should mainly include the group number, total number of group members, contact person and the itinerary of the tour.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
