documentation
Jim,
if you are buying a new bike, the bike retailer will automatically apply for the registration document in your name, as part of the sales transaction. The documentation will be sent by the DVLA, it takes about ten days from purchase of bike to arrive at your house.
Used bike:
when you buy the used bike, make sure you get the seller to give you a proper 'bill of sale' stating what you have bought etc. IE make, model, registration number, etc also ensure you get the bike registration document from the seller, (make sure the frame and engine numbers on the bike MATCH the documentation!)and make sure he signs his part of the document. With this document, you can then go to a 'local' DVLA office (see their web site for addresses) and they can issue you with a temporary vehicle reg document in your name. The 'official' one will be sent onto your address, again in about ten days.
As you are not a EEc national, you will need this temporary registration document for spain and most certainly morocco.
hope this helps.
