How many (empty) pages needed for Tajikistan, GBAO and Russia?

Hi

So, now our Iran trip has fallen through as the MFA needs more than 5 weeks to decide if they want to let me into their country, despite being booked on an obligatory tour , we are back to our former plan of Tajikistan and now returning to Europe via Kazakhstan and Russia.

We're traveling on 2 passports each, same nationality each, German guy, English girl.
We need to send one of our passports to Germany to get Russian visas.

And in the meantime apply for Tajik visa and GBAO permit, go to Tajikistan as well as briefly visit Kazakhstan, then return to Kyrgyzstan, picking up passports with Russian visas in either Dushanbe or Bishkek along the way. It's really not as hectic as it sounds!

We have precisely ONE empty page left in our old passports!
Is it going to work?
Can the GBAO permit and/or Tajik visa be stuck over a page with exit and entry stamps?
Does the new visa waiver system in Kazakhstan mean you get entry and exit stamps in your passport or do you need a full free page for a visa sticker?

Alternatively, how many pages are needed for a Russian visa? Do they require empty pages in the passport? I couldn't find anything saying that on any embassy websites.

Finally, is there any issue entering and exiting Kazakhstan on passport A and entering Russia from Kazakhstan with passport B?

Thanks!!
Helen

my Tajiki visa was on one page, my GBAO on another page, both too big for one page.

Tx. Do you think they would stick them over entry stamps (not visas)?

The Tajik embassy was persuaded to take 1 page for the visa and the rest of an already stamped page for the GBAO permit... Lets see how it goes when we pick up tomorrow / get to the border.

Russia definitely wants 2 clear and facing pages.

We won't be doing the 2 passports / Kazakhstan thing, so can't answer that bit for anyone.

Be aware also that Russia requires 6 months of validity of your passport beyond the expiry date of the Russian visa. If you have less than that amount of validity remaining, they will shorten the validity period of the Russian visa so that it ends 6 months before the expiry of the passport.

I learned that the hard way in 2012.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
