for romania or bulgaria you need green card if the police stops you or if you have an accident but no need for border

All these countries are in the EU so green cards are not necessary. Your normal UK insurance must cover you for all EU states, so your insurance certificate is sufficient. I know Slovenia has signed up to the Schlengen Agreement for open borders, don't think the others have but I wouldn't expect any delay or excessive document checks.

If You take your insurance from the UK with you you won't have a problem in these countries
We found the Crossing from Romania into bulgaria was the one that took longer and they did check all the paper work and the frame number on the V5 against the one on the Bike.
You will have a problem if you try to cross from Bulgaria in the Bosnia .
Have a good trip

romania and bulgaria
just returned from a long weekend in bulgaria was not even asked to take helmet off just waved through. when we where asked for documents as soon as we took them from our pockets the customs did not check them just seemed happy we had them.
now living in brasov romania with house can offer accom to all and have just about all the kit to service or repair bikes if not have a mate with an airospace company that can make any bike part you need expect to pay a good bottle of wiskey.
if anyone gets stuck will do the usual and recovery you with the van but expect a drink. if i cant fix your bike have a few yam xts 750s you can use until yours if is sorted.
pm for my tel if you need
regards
mike

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
