Insurance in Nova Scotia
Hi Guys, I have just (3 days ago) arrived in Halifax Nova Scotia my bike travelled on a WW ro-ro from the UK, an excellent service and highly recommended. A local insurance broker assured me that he could sort out the insurance for Canada and the US with no problems despite being told that it was UK registered. On arrival I find that the Nova Scotia federation of insurers will only insure locally plated and registered bikes although by Canadian law brokers must offer insurance to everyone who wants it, so I would have to import the bike into Canada and buy local plates which is a no-no for various reasons. So it is back to M'cycle Express where I suspect I should have gone in the 1st place. A pity really, Halifax is a great port of entry, friendly customs and a slick service but once again it is the suits that screw it up so my advice is use the ro-ro but get your insurance from Gail at M'cycle Express. Ride safe.
