We got a 3 months visa with multiple entry, sending in
- carnet de passage
- visa form
- pictures/foto
- jellow fever stamp
- ebanking printout
- written letter about our plans
- link to our blog
- hotel booking for 2 nights
In the letter we wrote, that we just want to cross Angola and dont have a person for invation. Was pretty easy compared with other visas on the west...
Also at 2012 there was a note that an invatiotion is neccessary. Maby this help you a bit, i would search in the blogs of other travellers how they did it in 2013.
Here i try to collect all travellers from 2012 upwards, who are on the west:

Hi,
thank you very much. That's good to know. still plenty time to departure. Will try to find contacts in Angola. I think an invitation would be good too. Even though it works without. Save travels. Cant wait.
Btw. which countries are the worst for Visas?
Thanks, Alex

Worst was the Nigeria Visa - if you do it in your Home country.
We had to go to the embassy for an interview…
Generally the embassies have a lot of querys of people who aren't prepared well. If you come well prepared they will help you more..
