Hi Gerard,
I have the same question...have you already found out something more? I send a message to Arkno, but got no reply, so I am still looking for a reliable agency. If you have a recommendation, please let me know! Thanks in advance!

Hey Gerard
Had same problem - solved on route down through Switzerland, Libyan embassy in Bern issued Transit Visa for 20 days, no invitation required. Applied 10am had visa by 1pm same day. Maybe I got lucky??? cost was CHF200-00 , not sure if this is the official price or one sucked out of the air? (no receipt) but at the avoidance of all the hassle - worth it! There is another option, a visa sevice company in Holland. Brilliant first class service, they will tell you exactly what you need and can all be done via post. There web is www.visumdienst.nl
Good luck
Andy

Hi Andy,
Did this transit visa mean you could travel without a guide? I'm looking to enter Libya via Tunisia and onto Egypt on a bike and can't afford to hire a guide.

No - you still need a guide if going off piste or off sealed roads, as you are heading towards Egypt and if you stick to the coastal road you dont - unless the rules have changed?

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
