need help buying a motorbike in the UK
Hi all, I'm from Australia and is freaking excited about going to London in a few days to buy a cheap Honda Cb250 to ride around Europe. I've search around and got the idea that you need to have an address in the UK to get the registration papers. I was wondering is there any fellow ADV in the UK kind enough to let me borrow their address? Is there any things I need to look out for when buying a used bike in the UK?
Cheers!
Kevin

Hotel ?
When I was living there I got my bike registered to the hotel I was living at.
I know that is a bit different to what you are doing but it might work. I used the street number, postcode and my name instead of the hotel name and street. The UK have tricky post codes that are linked to the street number I think.

I've helped fellow travellers in this way before. If you get an RS and it has any bits missing I also have everything for a CB250 RS. Everything apart from the frame!

Registering the bike on someone's address I don't think there will be a problem, what about insurance on a foreign driving licence. You will need insurance and M.O.T to get the tax and ride away. I don't know how easy this would be.

If you find a used bike which have MOT and ROADTAX valid for another few months, all you need to register it in your name is address. To insure it you need to make some calls to agents, might be more expensive but possible.
PM me if still need address, I live next to Heathrow.
