BkADV, you have the wrong carnet application. That's for "professional equipment or "fair/exhibition""
NOT vehicles.
The one you want is here http://www.cpdcarnet.com/
You'll always be transiting if it comes up on the vehicles carnet app. NEVER even THINK of staying/leaving the bike, you're in for a world of hurt if you do/say anything that might make anyone so much as think you might do that.

I think im going to have an heart attack?
sO I NEED CDP...CARNET DE PASSAGE
I check the fee...I have to give them straight up 12k USD?
Or do I just pay the net fee...and have to pay 10k USD if i dont return carnet with stamps?..
please be the net fee
ok
seems like 2 options, upfront minimum 5k USD despoit + fees
other is $2600 fee + application fee of 775 so 3375 total upfront..i assume
in the end when i return the carnet, they will return 2080 dollars
so net price for the carnet exluding shipping inbound/outbound is 1295 dollars

That SOUNDS BALLPARK correct. Carnets are not cheap.
You need to talk to them directly to get it all correct. We don't have any way of keeping track of all the possible fees for each issuer worldwide, much as we might like to. There are generally options and things to think about to get it right. Re-read the Carnet page first! Paperwork | Horizons Unlimited
Also you might want to see the explanation in the Achievable Dream DVD series now available on Vimeo - see link at top of page - where I cover how it works if you're not sure.
Hope that helps!

Why isn't Iran allowed in the carnet for Canadian users?
BTW You dont need an FIA carnet to enter Iran. Simply contact the Iranian Automobile Club and they will charge you much less.
Charging a non-refundable $1000.00cad registration fee for a carnet is extorsion. But I guess it is just the American way of doing things.

It seems that the only reason is that the carnet happens to be issued by a U.S.-based company, and because of U.S. sanctions against Iran, they won't issue them, even for Canadians. It's just too bad that CAA stopped issuing carnets for Canadians!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
