No! (as of Autumn 2010!....)

Sorry flid, but i think you're out of luck. As i understand it a decision was made in April 2010 that visas for Pakistan MUSt be made in the applicants home country. Of course, the Embassys didn't bother updating their websites catching out a couple of people in our China (Aug 2010) crossing group, who went to several pakistan embassies in Central Asia trying to get a visa (including getting the Ambassador to intervene on their behalf!) but with no luck.

the only place I know where you can still get a Pakistan visa outside your home country is at the northern border crossing at Sost (if you're coming from China). I guess it's just because by the time you get to the customs post you're already 70km inside Pakistan so they can hardly turn you back.

The guys in our group got theirs in 10 minutes and for just $20 or so. They weren't one-offs either, as we bumped into a few cyclists who'd done the same thing.

I think the only way, realistically, is going to be to send the passports home and get them processed there as if you were still at home.

hope that helps...

I rang them over a month ago (Feb 2011), and you couldn't get it. The were plainly refusing to issue visas to foreigners.

Now, your second option is to send your passport home as I did, but it is against the law in India to send your passport out of the country without a letter from your ministry of foreign affairs and trade. This is an easy letter to get around if you have someone who knows how to use a computer and a colour printer...
pm me if you need more help on this.

It doesnt cost much to send your passport out of the country using DHL but getting it back into India from your home country is! If you dont have a return address you can use DHL office, just put a note on the outside of the package asking them to call you. I also watched the tracking number and called the day before warning them its coming and please call.

All up it too me three weeks to get my passport to a friend in Australia, then down to the embassy, back up to my friend and then over to me in Goa.

Best of Luck!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
