Paperwork required when coming into MX from GT
My CND buddy and I have bikes stored in San Cristo MX (no TVIP) and we are going back in November to spend a week riding in GT riding with some MX buddies.
When we go to cross the border at La Misilla do we have to first stop at the MX customs to get stamped out?
I understand when we cross into GT we have to give up our MX tourist card and we'll have to get a GT TVIP (good for 90 days) and get our passport stamped.
When we return to MX to store the bikes I assume we cancel the GT TVIP at the GT border, then go to the MX customs to get our passport stamped and go to the bangercito to get our MX tourist card so we can fly home.
Can we play dumb and carry on without getting a MX TVIP (ie: will the bangercito folks tell us to get a TVIP when we get our tourist card, we will be in riding gear so it will be easy to tell we are on motorcycles)?
Last time we cancelled our MX TVIP we turned around and rode back north through the back roads around the check point just south of Comitan to store the bikes in San Cristo, so we'll do that again.
We may not be back within the 180 days so we want to be off the TVIP clock.
Thanks so much in advance!
