Potentially useful insurance information, UK
ebikeinsurance do a pay-as-you-go monthly policy, meaning you could tailor insurance to your trip if need be.
For example, I'm planning on going away for 4 months, which is obviously more than the 90 day limit UK insurers seem to give you for foreign travel. Plus I'm not always going to be in EU countries, so if I want fully comp at home or when in the EU, on an annual policy I have to pay for it even when I can't use it.
So with ebike I could pay for fully comp, (or tpft which is still more than the bare legal minimum) in the first month when I'm in the EU, stop when I head into Ukraine, buying minimum cover locally, then start with fully comp when I get back into the EU.
All this is theoretical at the moment, the quote they've given me is insanely expensive (£500 for a year or £48 a month) so it probably won't be worth it for me personally. But others might benefit
