Provisional licenses
Hi All,
Im a young Aussie guy who only recently got licensed for motorbiking. We have a multi teired system based on length youve held the license before you can progress to the next level. Im currently still only on the first level. On which ive been refused a IDP because its not a full licence, which I cant get for three years.
Enevitably I will have to show a license, but will it be journey stopping at a bordee crossing not to have a full license with an IDP?
Thanks all,
Jordan

You will probably be alright as long as the licence you have is valid for the bike you are riding, most police I have met are happy with my UK driving licence. The thing you have to check is whether your travel, as in medical insurance company are happy with you riding on a restricted licence, UK companies can be quite particular about this and only give cover for riding any powered two wheeler if you have a full motorcycle licence, I suggest you check with them before setting off and get a written reply.

One of these you should be able to get and works for borders/police etc The International Driver's License of IDL Services Inc...
Whether is legal to ride on provisional licence will depend on country you're in and as mentioned possible problem with travel insurance

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
