Renew Permit and Insurance in Panama
Well Lisa and I really like Panama and decided to extend our stay and to do this we researched the locations of the Insurance and Permit in Panama,we set out from our location near Sorá at Altos del Maria. The trip was to take about an hour and a half but as always the unexpected happens and we found ourselves in the middle of a city wide shutdown due to rioting on a Friday. Our Permits and insurance run out on Sunday.I need to mention that our tourist visas are good for 180 days but the bikes are only good to stay for thirty days.So our back up plan was to head in the opposite direction on the Monday,we set out for Santiago for the insurance and had little problems locating the Insurance agency named Seguros Suramericana located at Calle 8 beside the Multibank
after an hour the insurance was ready for both bikes $15.00 for 30 days each, from there we headed back in the direction from where we came from stopping first in Davisa at the Aduana that is located right beside the Hiway, don't blink you can miss it.Now I forgot to take a picture of the Aduana but here is a link from a friend site showing the location http://capitolsouthbound.com/2012/07...at-says-smile/
Now I need to mention that you have to renew the Permit every 30 days and this is free, however the insurance can be purchased for the period of time you will be staying in Panama this saves you from having to go and buy insurance and renewing the Permit in the same day.
