temporary import paper paraguay

I'm traveling South America and till so far no problems getting the temporary import paper for the bike, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil, now I crossed the border from Brazil to Paraguay at Ponta Pora - Pedro Juan Caballero the aduana in Pedro Juan Caballero don't want to give me the temporary import paper for paraguay and tell me I've got to arrange it in Conception.
That leaves me traveling half the country with no import paper and I'm warned in Brazil they do this on purpose, my thought is they are or lazy or don't know what to do.
Showed them the Brazilien and Uruguayen one and looked if they saw them for the first time.
Please some advice, staying overnight in Ponta Pora (Brazilien site of the border), can I really arange it in Conception?

Heading for Bolivia, Stan

Hi Stan,

I'm in the same boat at the moment, When I crossed the border back into Argentina from TDF at Dorotia, I was told "No lo necesito" so I have no temp import papers for the crossing into Chile in the next few days (i'm in Mendoza at the moment). My guess is just try to complete in Conception??

Best of Luck Chris.

Ha Chrispy,

I'm in Conception, but got the importpaper in Pedro Juan Caballero.
And that seemed necessary, this 225Km been checked by Police stops 5 times.
of which 4 asked for the papers.
Yesterday evening I had a bright moment and putted a few sentences together translating them in "google translate" to Spanisch.
Was like "A paper with stamp and date and licence number of the bike wil temporarly do according to the Dutch embassy"
Went back this morning and showed them this handwritten note on a piece of paper.
The part of " Dutch embassy" triggerd them and one of them started to call after lunch I went back and there were 3 the same faxes, the temp import.
Now I got them for Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina, till month 6 in 2011, not gonne give away that one.
Should have returend the Brazilien one when I left the country and wouldn't come back..... well sue me
you feel better , read your blog.
Hope all turns out well with the import paper.

C ya Stan

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
