Temporary import permit / passevant / laissez-passe Morocco to Ghana
I'm going Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo and Benin.
For those that have been in these countries without Carnets, can you tell me how much the passevant was?
As I understand it is possible to go that route without carnet and to much trouble at the borders. Anyone got refused to enter any of these countries because of no carnet?
Cheers

When are you going, I'm doing almost identical trip... without a carnet too... leaving the UK 10th March!... TBH I'm just going to wing it and see how it goes with laissez-passe's and some persuasion if required.
Nick

Be good to hear how you got on MetusUK seeing as your leaving a few months before me. How long are you taking to do it aswell.
Im just hoping and praying nothing changes between now and then (I.E carnet required) Or im scupered !!!.

I have planned my route in such a way that if time gets tight the 'loop' can just be 'shortened' but hopefully there won't be a need, I can only ever get a maximum of 2 months off of work (by using this years annual leave and next years butted together) so I have 62 days. I'm going to change my shifts on either side so the day before i work a 5am to 1 and return to a late shift, squeezing an extra day out... but thats by the by... as a when i travel to internet cafes i'll post each 'border' drama/non drama for your pleasure

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
