Third Party Insurance Cover
I am completely new to the world of Adventure Motorcycling, so any help you can give would be very much appreciated.
I am considering joining an expedition in October from London to Cairo, using my own bike. Having spoken to Paul Gowen (at the RAC) I have now got my head around the Carnet issues, particularly with Eygpt.
My question relates to Third Party Insurer cover, my own insurer will not provide cover in Albania, Trukey, Syria, Jordan or Eygpt.
I know you can by cover at the borders, but I am told this is next to worthless and is only really purchased in case you are stopped by the police.
Does anyone know of an insurer that will cover Theft and Damage to the bike?
Also in the event of an accident, that was my fault, does insurance purchased at the border cover any third party liability? Or is it case of ride carefully, and don't have an accident!
What do other riders do?
