UK citizen, Zambian vehicle, travelling Zm to UK - Carnet issuer?
Hi all
I am a UK citizen currently working and residing in Zambia. I have a full UK motorcycle licence. I am planning on riding my Zambian registered motorbike and sidecar back to the UK from July 2017, arriving UK sometime in early 2018. My plan would then be to register the vehicle in UK. Zambia has no authority that issues Carnet de Passage. I will need the Carnet for Kenya and Egypt at the very least, but maybe for some other countries on the way.
Does anyone know if CARS in UK can issue a Carnet for a Zambian registered vehicle, given that I have a UK address, I am a UK citizen and full licence holder and I want to register the vehicle (what's left of it!) in UK when I get back.
If you have experience, advice or suggestions on whether it is possible to get a Carnet issued in UK or Europe for a Zambian registered vehicle, I would be grateful to hear from you. I don't want to get a Carnet issued in South Africa because a. I have to deposit the full value (or more as I will go through Egypt) and b. I am not planning on returning the vehicle to SA to discharge the Carnet.
Thanks for the help.
