Urgent help usa customs on leaving

We are attempting to have shipping agent accept ( Schumacher Cargo Logistics) our bikes for shipping to NZ
They are two AUS registered bikes, we came into North America via Canada, however on crossing the Buffalo border we did not get a stamp or asked for any paper work (which we had ready), we then went into Mexico and returned to LA. We did get a stamp at the Mexican border.
Schumacher Cargo Logistics are telling us that Customs require some proff we entered into the States.
Has anybody had this problem? and if so what was the solution?
An answer in the next 12 hours would be handy
Cheers
Brett

Where are you guys now, in LA?

If you have an exit stamp from Mexico just before you last entered the USA, then that should be proof enough that you entered the USA - if the US customs agents did not stamp your paperwork, tell them now that there must have been a mix up - tell them that upon entry to the USA that you stated to the customs guys that you were "Transiting" and on route to NZ

Using the word "Transiting" is always the best way to explain your trip when entering any country.

If they are being real a**holes they could make you return to the port of entry and make you get a stamp, waffle and say it was a mix up etc

Good Luck!

Yes LA now leaving next Tuesday.

RE Mexico, they did not accept that ......at the moment they are saying, we must return to Buffalo and recross again...... Very long way from LA.

Have printed out from US customs a record of all of our entery and exits into and out of USA and will see if they accept that..... they close in a few hours then reopen on Monday

Will also use the tranisting idea if they get back to us this afternoon.

Thanks for your suggestions, suppose if they refuse we could also return to Mexico and try shipping from there.

Cheers and thanks

Brett

Hi Brett, if you just recently re entered the USA from Mexico (this was your last entry into the USA if Im reading the story correctly) then you should have dated stamps in your passports supporting this.

If they insist you go to Buffalo, id just ride back to the Mexico border and talk the customs guys there, explain the situation and see if they will stamp your bikes in. If they wont, then go back to Mexico and re enter the USA if possible, then continue with the shipping that you already seem to have in place.

What a kerfuffle! - hope it all works out

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
