I suspect that this is not an easy thing to do, because:-
1. There are all sorts of rules within the EU toward standardisation, which are restrictive in nature. e.g. you would need an address in the country of registration at which the vehicle is deemed to be based (I think this applies across the whole of the EU nowadays).
2. It would be time consuming.
3. There would be costs involved, if it is feasible.
4. You have a RHD vehicle (presumably) being in the UK.
5. There are probably insurance issues related to this.
6. You may need a driving licence for the country where the vehicle would be registered - but, maybe you could get away with an IDP.
7. I haven't heard of anyone doing this from the UK, except when they have actually exported a vehicle, so I suspect the factors listed above add up to "the juice ain't worth the squeeze". (which would be why the SORN route is the easy "get out of jail" route, especially now it can be done online).
Not being negative, just saying!
to the HU by the way.
