Argentina/Brazil to US - any reputable air/sea companies
I am riding my bike to Ushuaia in September 2002. I will need to ship the bike back to Chicago from Buenos Aires or Rio. Can anyone help with a possible reputable shipping agents. Since I will be shipping on the way back, sea shipment may be most cost effective (the bike is a big Honda Cruiser)

Hellman Worldwide Logistics has been recommended. Their contact details in Buenos Aires are at this link:

and search on South America to Europe
We have no reports from travellers shipping out of Brazil, but generally if you go with a reputable worldwide shipping company such as Panalpina, P&O Nedlloyd or Hellman, you should be pretty safe. Also, it is much better to sea ship FROM Latin America than TO it, as you will be able to deal with port authorities and customs in your own country and language. Also try Berklay Express. http://www.motorcycleshipping.com/
Good luck, and let us know how you make out.

Just an update to my comment on this message. If you have a choice, shipping from/to Brazil has been reported as MUCH more hassle than from/to Argentina. Local paperwork is the main reason.
