cargo ship from US/Canada to Colombia
hey everybody, got some questions for anyone who has experience traveling via container ship. I'm gonna ship my motorcycle by air, so I'm only looking for info about sailing as a passenger.
I'm looking to sail from somewhere in the U.S. or Canada (preferably west coast, I'm gonna be riding the TAT first) to Cartagena, Colombia this summer. I'm really flexible with ports and I'm keeping Canada as an option because it seems the Jones Act may cause some conflicts if departing from the U.S.
Anyway, I've done very extensive research and have reached out to every single shipping agent I can find and all have either given me a "no" or given me no response at all. Figured I'd check here to see if anyone has any experience with this or has any good leads or insights. Thanks in advance!
and fwiw, I'm not sold on Colombia. I'm also open to sailing into Venezuela or Ecuador. The idea is I'll be riding the TAT this summer, flying my bike/shipping myself to Colombia and then riding to Ushuaia, Argentina and back up to Uruguay. It's been many, many months of planning and many dollars saved in the making, but the shipping thing is proving to be my final and biggest roadblock
any yeah, I know that flying would be way easier, but it's supposed to be an adventure, right?
