Customs broker/agent in Buenos Aires
My Landcruiser is about to arrive in Buenos Aires by container from Kuala Lumpur. I am currently in BA looking into the process, and have been quoted $1000 for customs formalities by 2 different brokers. This strikes me as very high.
Could someone please recommend someone cheap and reliable.
Many thanks,

If you want/need to use outside help, Sandra and Javier have assisted many a motorcycle traveller over the years. Sandra typically handles the customs clearance process and would no doubt be able to give you an idea of cost and what the process is like.

Many people do it themselves when arriving by air. Not sure what the process is like if arriving by sea.

Sandra will either advise or handle it, as you prefer. She's reliable and honest. Don't email: get the number from their website and call.

Thanks for the advice guys. Went to see Sandra today and she was super friendly and helpful. Really good experience. If I had a bike I would definitely stay there.
Anyway, she is going away in a few days so I have decided to try to save some cash by doing the whole thing by myself. Pray for me...

how easy/expensive was it to get your car through customs?
Hey Genji,
How easy and expensive was it for you to get your car through customs? and how much did you end up paying in total?
Am currently considering shipping a car to south america for a 3-month trip, but don't know if it is worth the cost and hassle yet.
Cheers
Joost
