Darien Gap
Hello fellow adventure types. Four of us are trying to figure the best way around the Darien with our GS's (2018). It seems that the ferry option is dead and so is the sailboat option. Does anybody have some up to date info/experience on this part of the trip south?
Thanks,
Jim Andrew

Why do you write that "ferry option is dead "?
As I wrote in the topic that I opened yesterday on my trip to America (April/May 2017) to ask for the air transport of the motorcycle from Europe to South America and then from Alaska to Europe ( http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ly-south-89814 ), I have to switch from Colombia to Panama.
The latest news that I give the ferry still active (but are not updated news): what are the News?

Sailboat option
Sailboat option is not dead. At least not for 2017... No plans after that so far but probably we will do tours May-Nov 18.

I can not send private messages to you: better to write here.
But the link you sent me is about the sailing boats that go to San Blas. This route does not interest me. I want to take the ferry (motor ferry, this Por 90 dólares se podrá viajar en ferry entre Panamá y Cartagena | El Heraldo) that runs from Cartagena in Colon.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
