Halifax or anywhere eastern Canada to Edmonton

Looking for options to ship myself and my bike from the east, Halifax or anywhere in the east to Edmonton - around June 14, but flexible within a few days.

I've ridden across the country too many times, and this time, depending on the state of fires in the west (what a disaster) I'll be heading north from Edmonton to Tuktoyaktuk.

One option is to rent a van one way.

Anybody have any other ideas or leads, please contact me.

Thanks.

Check with Air Canada & WestJet, I think they both do domestic shipping. I'm not sure if either carrier operates widebody (twin-aisle) aircraft out of Halifax, though, and motorcycles will only fit into widebodies, not B737 or A32x series aircraft.

Another option might be a household moving company.

You could also check with trucking companies in your origin area that do LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipments from Atlantic Canada to Alberta. If you use a LTL common carrier, you will need to put the bike on a pallet.

Thanks for this. Delayed response due to getting ready to leave. This is my last day....and I'm off. When I get east I'll look into these options.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
