How to get bikes from Bolivia to Peru
Hi ...
I'm currently in Bolivia and I need to get my bike to Peru, but the land borders are closed to tourists. Can anyone recommend a shipping or cargo company to get 1 motorcycle and some luggage to Lima?
I'm not fussy about how the bike travels eg plane, truck, train, etc. Normally I would just ride, but traveling during COVID is a pain. I'm happy to ride across if anyone knows of a way for me to do it.
Any advice is welcome. Thanks.

That's a tough one - and frustrating too!
My first thought is - can YOU get across?
If so, I'd look for a shipping company / trucking company that ships across the border in La Paz and see what can be worked out. Perhaps you can ride along in the truck OR ride to the nearest won to the border and hitch a ride with someone going across.
Having said that, I STRONGLY SUSPECT it's going to be impossible - but if you're stuck there, it's worth a try - the trying will be an adventure itself!

Thanks. My plan was to "ship" the bike across the border somehow, say to Lima or Cusco, then I would fly over. Hopefully it won't be too expensive since it's a 1.5 hour flight from La Paz to Lima, I think. Any shipping/cargo companies you can recommend?

How about tracking back to Argentina then crossing to Chile and heading north along the Pan-American highway to enter southern Peru. This assumes that Bolivia to Argentina, Argentina to Chile and Chile to Peru borders are open. It would be great to get some real info as I am planning to ride all these countries over the next couple of months.
