i'm in contact with in-time ( in-time but website is german) for my trip through latin america (have yet to start it though  )
i'll be driving from chile to california - point is: i was asking about how the shipping back to EU could look like. they told me that they'd suggest shipping it in a consolidated container (if this is the correct word in english) from LA to hamburg, so no crate required.
