Renting in Chile but returning bike in Brazil?
Hi
I want to do a trip that goes from Santiago to Buenos Aires to Montevideo and up towards Rio de Janeiro.
I'd rather rent a bike than ship mine but I dont want to ride all the way back to Santiago to return it.
Does anyone know of a way/place to rent bikes but return them in a different place? I am OK with most bikes, probably enduro would be best
Thanks!
Would really appreciate the advice

Know of for sure, no - but I'd certainly start by contacting HU advertisers such as SA Motor Tours - ad at the top of the HUBB pages - or Compass Expeditions - their banner ad is on the home page or the South America Regional forum. Both have good people who can either help or point you in the right direction.
Always try the HU advertisers first - they understand the kind of stuff we like to do or they wouldn't be advertising here and helping support the website!

Sorry to tell you but, that is not possible, much less rented motorcycles out of the country.
It is possible that a renter allow to you only going to Argentina . They do wit hrented cars but you must pay soem type of extra insurance.
The only way in doing that is renting from a private owner (could be) but you always have to return the bike in Chile.
Another option?, planned tour with a group.
Update
We have found out with MOTOAVENTURA.CL and Sonia that they give you the proper documentation for Argentina and you must pay US$90 for the insurance required. For Peru is US$140 , other countries not allowed.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
