Shipping 4WD from Nothern India to Thailand

Hi there,

We were originally going to spend maybe 6 months in India, but due to a number of circumstances we are now thinking we will only spend a brief month in India, before moving onto Thailand for a longer period.

In our initial plans we were going to ship from Cochin to Thailand as we had a good recommendation. Now that we plan to spend less time in India, this is a long was to go down, especially as we will be entering India from Pakistan and hope to head north first.

Does anyone have any recommendations of where in India to ship out of? Once we get an idea we can then plan our India route in a little more detail.

Thanks in advance

No

Hi Bertrand - thanks for that.

Unfortunately nothing recent or relevant in that little lot. Might be worth pursuing in the long run.

Thanks annyhow

Ollie,

from what I have heard and read the port in Chennay/Madras is the least likely to give you problems. However, do NOT ship to Bangkok as port officials there are corrupt. Ship to Butterworth or KL instead, should be straight forward.

Cheers,
Peter.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
