a) Does anyone have a contact for an agent in Veracruas who can get the bike cleared for me?; and:
b) how hard is it to do it yourself? - Account for the fact that my Spanish is non-existant.
I've had a look at the shipping pages etc. here but haven't found anything specific. Thanks in advance.

Hi Chris
Last march i shipped my bike to Veracruz Mexico, Your shipper should give you details of the agent who is dealling with the ship when it gets to Veracruz. If you dont have this info you can get it from the port authorty office located just out side of the main dock exit. The customs agent i used was very helpfull.
Agencia Aduanal
Gonzalo Salas Villagomaz

This guy speaks good english, i would advise you to check him out first before trying to do it on you own, it may save you a lot of money in the end and a lot of hassel, Mexican customs can be a real nightmare, don't expect to get your bike straight away its a slow prosses. Just in case you did not no you will have to buy a mexican road type customs tax its about $35-00 and you have to get it at a bank, this can also take a while and you must remember to get a custom reseat for it when you leave. If you need any more info you can contact me through Hu. Good luck have great trip Skip
