Hi Suzi

Not easy or cheap, but it can be done by air: Air Magadan flies from Anchorage to Magadan, Russia, via Petropavlovsk, at US$4.0/kg plus passenger fare.

See post below for updated contact details.

Here are links to a few posts on this topic.

Updated contact details - Magadan Air

Phone number for Cargo: 907-351-8464. Ask for Nick. Price for bikes is less than previously - US$4.00/kg if over 100 kg + $100.00 for hazardous materials fee and paperwork.

Flights are WEEKLY (Friday morning). Freight has to be with them by Wednesday noon, so Customs has all day Thursday to inspect it. They fly MD80 airplanes, and have limited space, so you should contact them well in advance to ensure there is space for you to fly on the same flight as your bike.

Phone number for passenger sales: 907-248-2994. Ask for Natasha. Round trip ticket for passenger is $1312.80 if purchased 30 days in advance. One way ticket is $765.40, does not need advance purchase.

The way is from Anchorage to Seoul, then by ferry to Vladivostok and by ship to Magadan.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
