I have heard about:

sadikally esoofally & co

Room No. 32, Dock View Building,, No. 1, Walchand Hirachand Marg, Ballard Estate,, Walchand Hirachand Marg, Ballard Estate, Fort, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400038, India
+91 22 2262 1107

Through research here and through other overland blogs. They are supposed to be reputable! I have NOT used them yet!

good luck!

Hi

It wasn't cheap at all in the end. This is what I ended up doing: HU Traveller Alexandros Papadopoulos's Ride Tale

At EUR2,130 is was an absolute ripoff, but the bike did get to Athens in time and in one piece, with no further expenses. Note that the customs officials in Athens Int'l Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos) were clueless and it took them a couple of hours to understand how to treat the Carnet and to realise the vehicle had legally exited India. Also, bring a friend with a vehicle to El.Venizelos, as the cargo buildings are far away from the airline offices and they'll send you back and forth a few times (instead of picking up the damn phone!) to get papers, signatures, stamps etc. At least that's what they did back in 2009.

Basically, Eastern Cargo from Mumbai, crappy boxing of the bike, airfreight to Athens via Abu Dhabi with Etihad. (IIRC)

You can see how they boxed the bike at HU Traveller Alexandros Papadopoulos's Ride Tale - after all their "yes, of course, no problem, we will strap the bike down in the crate", they actually just built an entire wooden structure of 100kg+ to hold it in place...

Overall an extremely frustrating and expensive experience that left a sour taste in my mouth from India.

Apparently they have another trading name SECO and they have recently been slated in another thread on this site . I am wondering what I can do next year as I had planned using them.

I will do some research as I have family in Mumbai!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
